  • The Cix Health app doesn’t cost anything to use. We do not charge our users for downloading, creating an account, or using the app.

  • No. HIPAA only applies to certain healthcare providers (e.g., medical practices, home health agencies, hospitals, therapists), insurance companies, and medical claims processing companies. It doesn’t apply to individuals who don’t fit into any of the above categories. State healthcare privacy laws are very similar, and generally apply to medical and billing records maintained by healthcare companies and their vendors.

  • Yes. The Cix Health Terms of Use prohibits its users from entering someone else’s information into our app without their permission. If you enter or share information about an individual without their consent, you will be in breach of your agreement with Cix Health. In addition, individuals have a legal right to privacy in many states. Disclosing a person’s private information without their consent can lead to legal consequences, especially if that person is harmed by the disclosure. For example, if you enter your loved one’s medical diagnosis into their profile in the Cix Health app, and then share their profile with a third party without their consent, and the third party’s knowledge of their diagnosis causes financial or reputational harm to them, you could be held legally responsible for that harm. You should always get consent from your loved one before including sensitive information in the Cix Health app, and before sharing that information with any third parties.

  • Yes. It’s our policy to delete any profile upon the request of the person whose information is stored in the profile. Contact us at privacy@cixhealth.com to have your information removed.

  • Cix Health was created to help caregivers keep track of the information they need to support their loved ones’ health and healthcare. This information can include, but is not limited to, medical diagnosis and treatment information, medications, insurance information, and healthcare provider information You’re permitted to enter any information you choose into the Cix Health app, as long as you have permission to do so from the person whose information you’re entering.** If you’re entering your own information, you can include any information you feel comfortable sharing. Before entering any information into our app, please review our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. **If you’re the legal guardian, parent, or have power of attorney to manage the subject’s healthcare, you may not need to receive permission.

  • 1. Log into your Cix Health app

    2. Click the settings icon in the top right corner of the app

    3. Scroll down to the “Created by me” section and select the profile you want to change sharing permissions for

    4. Once you’ve selected the profile, click on “Sharing permissions”

    5. On the “Sharing Permissions” screen click “Stop sharing with [profile name]”

    Once you’ve completed these steps, the person whose access you have revoked will no longer have the ability to view or share information about your loved one. However, because the Cix Health app does not prevent users from downloading information, you will need to contact the person directly to request that they destroy any data they may have printed or downloaded while they had access to the profile.

  • 1. Log into your Cix Health app

    2. Click the settings icon in the top right corner of the app

    3. Under “My Profile” click “Sharing Permissions”

    4. Select the profile you want to stop sharing your information with

    5. Scroll to the bottom of the share setting screen and click “Stop sharing with [profile name]”

    Once you’ve completed these steps, the person whose access you have revoked will no longer have the ability to view or share your information. However, because the Cix Health app does not prevent users from downloading information, you will need to contact the person directly to request that they destroy any data they may have printed or downloaded while they had access to the profile.

  • You have a right to delete any account you’ve created. If you’d like to delete an account, you can do so by emailing us at info@cixhealth.com.

  • We’re working on the ability to combine profiles. However, that feature is currently unavailable. If a profile has incorrect information, you can update the account information in the settings section. If you’d like to delete a profile, you have a right to delete any profile you’ve created. You can do so by emailing us at info@cixhealth.com.
